Concrete Testing Technician
Columbus, Ohio
National Engineering & Architectural Services, Inc. (NEAS), a full-service Geotechnical Engineering, Materials Testing, Construction Inspection, Geotechnical Drilling, and Surveying Firm is seeking individuals with construction inspection experience, particularly in the inspection of rigid and flexible pavements.
As a full-time Concrete Testing Technician, you will play a key role in supporting our projects by performing a variety of tests for our clients including concrete inspection, compaction testing, and lab testing.
Requirements include:

High School Diploma or GED

Computer proficiency
-
Good verbal and written communication skills

Ability to interpret plans, specifications, and reports

Ability to perform analytical calculations
Preferred Qualifications include:
-
ACI Concrete Field Testing Certification - Grade I
-
ODOT Prequalified Soil & Aggregate Inspector
-
NICET Construction Material Testing - Level I
-
NETTCP Soils & Aggregate Inspector Certification
-
ODOT Compaction Testing Prequalification
Must be able to perform a range of physical activities, including sustained walking, bending, twisting, standing and reaching, and perform medium to heavy work including occasionally lifting over 30 pounds and exerting up to 30 pounds of force.
Top pay is commensurate with experience and active certifications.
A company vehicle will be provided for all project related work/travel.

Staff Engineer
Columbus, Ohio
Designs and provides expertise on hydraulic and transportation projects with an emphasis on improving water quality, storm & sanitary systems; creates plans for transportation-related projects such as highways, bridges, and public transit networks; conducts field studies to identify and resolve issues; researches and recommends maintenance and improvement of infrastructure; conducts environmental impact assessments for proposed projects; develops traffic management plans; collaborates with internal and external personnel to ensure cohesive project development; prepares detailed engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates; conducts site inspections to monitor projects' progress and compliance with design specifications; utilizes modeling software such as HEC-RAS, EPANET, VISUM, VISSIM, SYNCHRO, AutoCAD, Civil3D, MicroStation, HY-8,
HEC-HMS, and SRH-2D; ensures compliance with industry-standards and all applicable regulations such as ODOT, ASTM, AWAA, AASHTO, and FHWA; analyzes geological and topographical data, and resolves technical issues; prepares and presents project plans to stakeholders and the public; coordinates with team members and senior personnel for successful project development and execution.
Must have a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering. Must have completed college level courses in all of the following:

Advanced hydraulics;

Highway traffic safety; and
-
Advanced open channel flow.
