Field Technician

Columbus, Ohio

Description

National Engineering & Architectural Services Inc. (NEAS Inc.) is searching for a Professional Surveyor who wants to join our expanding survey department.  Our ideal candidate would have experience with ODOT projects, Microstation, and AutoCAD.  

 

Founded in 1992 by bridge engineer, Andy Barr, PE, PhD, the company is now doing business as National Engineering & Architectural Services Inc. After more than 25 successful years in business, the name change reflects the firm’s transformation from a 2-person bridge design firm in to a multi-faceted organization dedicated to providing excellence in Surveying, Geotechnical Engineering, Materials Testing, and Inspections services to Engineering and Architectural clients. Growing in all departments, NEAS Inc. is seeking talented and motivated personnel to assist in this pursuit. As a significant and respected part of the company, the survey department is integral to the development goals of NEAS Inc. 

 

As a Professional Surveyor for NEAS Inc., you'll demonstrate excellent attention to detail throughout the survey process, developing deed work maps, developing base maps, and conducting courthouse research to collect right of way property information. You'll use your knowledge of ALTA/ACSM Land Title Surveys, Topographic Mapping, Courthouse Research, Boundary Surveys, construction layout, and GPS surveys to contribute to the project's success. 

 

Requirements

Experience/Qualifications:

• Ohio Professional Surveyor 

• 5+ Years in Survey Field 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Survey/Engineering 

• MicroStation Experience 

• Must be detail oriented

• Willing to travel as needed, typically not involving overnight stays

Drill Helper

Columbus, Ohio

Description

National Engineering & Architectural Services Inc. (NEAS Inc.) is hiring Entry Level Drill Helpers.  

Successful candidates will be motivated, trustworthy, and have the ability to problem solve on the job site. 

This position will require overnight travel; per diem and lodging will be covered by NEAS Inc.

Candidates must be able to successfully pass a drug screen, background check, and have a clean driving record. 

 

Requirements

Must be dependable, on time and have reliable transportation to and from work.

Must be physically capable of performing heavy lifting on a daily basis.

Must enjoy working outdoors in each of the four seasons.

Must be committed to following accepted safety standards.

Must be eager to learn new skills and assume increased responsibilities as experience is accumulated.

 

Complimentary Attributes and Skills which would be considered a plus: 

- CDL 

- Experience with CME Rigs 

- Experience operating other heavy equipment 

- Soils logging/independent certifications and/or licenses 

- Packer testing 

- Instrumentation installation

Field Technician

Columbus, Ohio

Description

National Engineering & Architectural Services, Inc. (NEAS), a Geotechnical Engineering, Material Testing, and Surveying firm is seeking Field Technicians for our Columbus Lab.

 

As a Field Technician, you will play a key role in supporting our projects by performing a variety of tests for our clients.

Requirements

Candidates with the following skills and certifications are preferred:

- Concrete Testing

- ACI Concrete Level I Certification

- Experience in the Civil Engineering Field

- Computer proficiency

- ODOT Prequalification: Soil & Aggregate Inspector

- Preferred ODOT Prequalification: Project Inspector and Project Structures Inspector

 

Must be able to perform a range of physical activities, including sustained walking, bending, twisting, standing and reaching, and perform medium to heavy work including occasionally lifting over 30 pounds and exerting up to 30 pounds of force.

Geotechnical Driller

Columbus, Ohio

Description

National Engineering & Architectural Services Inc. (NEAS Inc.) has an opening for an experienced Geotechnical Driller.  Successful candidate will be motivated, trustworthy, and have the ability to problem solve on the job site. 

 

Driller will be responsible for logistics, production, and site safety, while supervising 1 – 2 driller assistants. 

 

This position will require overnight travel; per diem and lodging is covered by NEAS Inc.

 

Candidates must be able to successfully pass a drug screen, background check, and not have a good driving record. 

 

Pay ranges for experienced drillers is from $16 - $28 per hour and are dependent upon experience and potential to grow within the department. 

 

Past experience should include hollow stem/SPT sampling, rock coring, and rotary drilling using truck mounted and ATV rigs. 

 

Requirements

Skills: 

- Class A CDL

- Experience with CME Rigs 

- Experience operating other heavy equipment 

- Soils logging/independent certifications (considered a plus)

- Packer testing (considered a plus)

- Instrumentation installation 

- Diesel mechanic abilities
